What kinds of changes can I expect when it comes to faxing in Mac OS 10.7 (Lion)?

Do we need a separate phone line to have a fax machine, or can we use our regular phone line for both? (As long as we don’t try to use the phone and send/receive a fax at the same time).

Q: I want to send a fax from my computer to another country. What service can do this? I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription.

When someone wants to send me a fax is there anything I need to do on the machine before they send it? Do I need to have it on FAX for me to receive it? I didn’t think so, but I have not been receiving the faxes lately when they are being sent.
