Is it possible to program a Brother 3900 or 2820 fax machine to date/time stamp the time RECEIVED, rather than the time it was SENT? From a legal point of view, it’s important to know when we received an item. If not, are there models out there that do date stamp receipt? Thanks

I have a iPod touch and would like to send a fax. Not on the Internet, but VoIP or FoIP is good; even better would be if I can send it with a real fax like I would print using AirPrint.

I regularly send faxes with an old style fax machine as I must have a confirmation page that shows a copy of the first page of the fax. This way the receiver cannot say “I see you faxed me 3 pages last month but I can’t confirm what you faxed so I am not accepting it as timely”. I have not seen an internet fax program that provides a confirmation sheet that I could print or save with a copy of the first page of the fax as part of the confirmation sheet. Are you aware of any?

We receive faxes from senders who do not set up their fax information in the fax header on their machines. Yet, they’re able to print out activity report showing the date and time they have sent us a fax. Our fax machine, on the other hand, does show an entry for the fax transaction, but with their fax number blank. This has caused some problems for us because we cannot prove when we have received their fax. How can we make sure our fax activity report shows the number of the sender in this case? Would a caller ID on our fax line help?
