Fax machine A can not receive a fax from fax machine B. All fax A does is ring. I can however send to fax B from fax A. Fax machine A can receive and send faxes from everywhere else. There are no blocked numbers on fax A. When we brought the unit to another location, it worked just fine.
What could be stopping fax reception from just one fax number?

I sent a test fax from FaxZero (the free send fax service) to my account at K7 (the free receive fax service), but I only received the fax cover page, not the Page 2 with the text I’d typed in! Is something broken with FaxZero or K7? I’m using MacOS X.

I sent a fax with personal information on it to to an unintended number. Is there a way for me to find out where exactly this fax is located? I know the area code is New York City.

Thank you for the informative Internet fax services comparisons web site. I signed up for one then came to the realization that they — and also the rest I’ve checked so far — keep ownership of your 800 number! So if you ever decide to go elsewhere, or the company folds, you must start over with a different fax number. I find this unacceptable for any sort of business use. Do you know of any of the services which let you keep your toll-free number? This portability is standard when getting voice service and I believe required by law. Any info or comments?
I travel with my laptop quite a bit and typically have two problems when I’m on the road. First, not everywhere I go has wireless Internet access, so I need to be able to dial in with a modem to check my e-mail. Second, I sometimes need to send faxes while I’m out of town. A colleague recommended that I get a USB fax modem for my laptop. Is this the best solution?
