Blank Fax Pages

Why did I get a fax with blank pages?

If you receive a fax with blank pages, especially if not all of the pages are blank, nine times out of 10 the answer is that the sender fed one or more of the sheets into the fax machine upside down or backward. You can confirm that this is what happened by noting whether the header (lines of sender information) is present.

You could also be experiencing a technical or mechanical problem, such as a need to fix or change parts. You can test whether your machine can print at all by using its “copy” function, or print an activity report. If all is well on your end, the problem must be with the sender’s machine.

If, by any chance, you’re using an old thermal fax machine, check to see if the roll of paper has been put in backward, because if that’s the case the heads won’t print on the side that isn’t heat-sensitive.
