Fax and Scan on Windows 10

I have just had Windows 10 installed. On Windows 7 I had Fax & Scan but cannot find it on Windows 10. I use it only occasionally. Where has it gone?

If you’re unfamiliar with the program, Windows Fax and Scan is an application that, you guessed it, lets you fax and scan documents directly from your computer. It’s available for Windows 7, Windows 8, some versions of Windows Vista, and now Windows 10.

Although you have to be plugged into a telephone line or have a computer with a fax modem, Fax and Scan basically exists to bring digital files into one unified system. You can scan documents into the program and then fax or email them.

To answer the question at hand, yes, Windows 10 has Fax and Scan. If you’re having trouble finding it, there’s a simple way to pull it up. Open your Start menu and click “All Apps”. Scroll down to “Windows System” and find the “Run” command. I don’t know why they’ve buried something as useful as the “Run” command in Windows 10, but there you have it.

Once you have the Run command up, type in “WFS” and press “OK”. It will bring Windows Fax and Scan up without a problem, and you’ll be good to go.
