Wireless Printer Copier Fax?
I’m shopping for a wireless printer/fax machine. Do you have any suggestions?
There are a few multifunction printer/fax machines available from various manufacturers, but among the ones I’ve tested, the HP all-in-one printers are my favorite. I currently use the HP Photosmart 2710 All-in-One Printer, but even if that model is no longer available by the time you read this, chances are good that another HP model will do the job nicely. (My 2710 is actually the second HP printer/fax combo that I’ve owned. I gave the previous model to a relative when I upgraded to the 2710.)
What I like about the HP all-in-one is that it works as a printer, fax machine, and personal copier. As a printer, it connects to my wifi network, so I can place it in a corner of the office without running wires to the computer. Up to five computers on the LAN can print to it, wirelessly — Mac, Windows, and Linux. As a fax machine, it sends black-and-white or color faxes. It also serves as a copier, for greyscale or beautiful color copies. (For coping jobs of more than 20 or so pages, I still head to the local copy shop, which is cheaper and faster for big copying jobs. But it sure is convenient to not go to Kinkos for quick copy needs.
