How Can I Sign a Fax File?

I switched from a fax machine to internet faxing, but there are still documents I send that need signatures. What do I do?

Thanks to continuing advances in technology, more and more businesses and entities recognize documents that were signed and then sent via fax.

There are several options available to you if you need to sign files before faxing them online. If you have a hard copy of the document and a scanner, the simplest course of action would be to just sign the hard copy, scan it into your computer and then send it via online fax. If this works for you but a lot of your documents are already on your computer, you can sign your name on a piece of paper, scan it into your computer, save the signature as an image, and then copy and paste it into the necessary documents. However, make sure that whomever is receiving your fax accepts this method of signing as valid.

If you would prefer to sign your documents electronically, there are several services available that can help you do just that. Companies such as
and DocuSign
charge a fee but guarantee security, accuracy and efficiency. A service like that lets you do everything online, without the need of a printer, scanner or fax machine. They can be handy, but look into need and cost before you buy. I predict that services like this will become more and more standard in the future.
