Number of Rings
How can I get my fax machine to wait eight rings before it picks up the fax?
There is actually a pretty straightforward answer to this question, but unfortunately it depends on the fax machine you own. Most fax machines will let you choose how many rings the machine will wait before it accepts a fax, and that can range from zero (immediately picks up) to manual (waits until the user manually accepts the fax). Most fax machines will offer between one and six rings, but some of them go up to nine or higher.
To set the number of rings manually, you’ll need to go into your fax machine’s settings. Find the function for Receiving or Answering Faxes and then choose Rings to Answer. You should be able to choose the number you want. Hit Save or OK and you’re good to go!
