How do wireless fax machines work?

When you fax something to someone can the person receiving the fax know where the fax is being faxed from? For example, I am sending a fax that was supposed to be faxed from Arizona to Wisconsin but it is actually being faxed from Wisconsin to Wisconsin.

My Senator’s phone line is always busy and I’m not sure that the staff even checks the email. Should I try sending a fax?

I sent a fax to the wrong fax number. I got a confirmation that it was received, and when I called the number it’s definitely a fax line. The information I sent was very sensitive. How do I find out where I sent it?
