What is TTI?

My fax machine has a setting for TTI. I looked it up and it said it stands for Transmission Time Interval. What does that have to do with my fax machine?

Actually, if it’s a setting on your fax machine, TTI probably stands for Transmit Terminal Identification. This is where you can set the identifying information about your fax machine before you send a fax.

TTI usually includes the date and time of your fax transmission, the number of pages sent, and your fax number. This is helpful for the recipient so that they know when you sent in your documents, how many they should expect, and how to get a hold of you. You can enable or disable this feature in most fax machines in the “Settings” category, and also provide your local fax number yourself. It’s a handy way to keep people informed.
