Can I Fax with Ooma?

I have Ooma. However, I am having difficulty faxing. I know that faxing with VOIP has difficulties. Do you know how to specifically fax with Ooma? I have a mfc 8440 Brother fax machine.

Does Caller ID Reveal Sender Name on Fax Activity Report?

We receive faxes from senders who do not set up their fax information in the fax header on their machines. Yet, they’re able to print out activity report showing the date and time they have sent us a fax. Our fax machine, on the other hand, does show an entry for the fax transaction, but with their fax number blank. This has caused some problems for us because we cannot prove when we have received their fax. How can we make sure our fax activity report shows the number of the sender in this case? Would a caller ID on our fax line help?

Faxing with MagicJack Connected to Computer

I want to connect up a MagicJack to the computer. Then connect a phone line from MagicJack back to the phone line of the computer. I could then fax directly from my computer with a broadband connection. Would this work?

iPhone vs. Fax Machine: The Battle Continues

I have read your response (from awhile ago, I gather), called “Can I connect my iPhone to my fax machine?”, but wonder if now there is some means of hooking my iPhone to my Brother all-in-one and using the iPhone in place of the land line phone the Brother intends for its faxing.

Erasing Windows Fax Console Files

I use Fax Console in Windows XP to send & receive my faxes, and occasionally I have need to send personal information in a fax that I later want, not just to delete, but to overwrite to erase the information off my hard drive. I have a program called Eraser that will do that by letting me drag the files or files to the Eraser program to be overwritten. Problem is, Fax Console won’t let me “drag” the fax to my Eraser program. How can I accomplish what I want to?

Blank Faxes

All incoming faxes are completely blank. Help! It’s just an ordinary fax machine connected to a phone line. I can send faxes without any problem. However, the incoming faxes are blank. It sounds like it’s printing, but it isn’t. Thanks for your help.

Stored Fax Information and Privacy Concerns

I have a doctor’s office whose fax machine recently died, and she was told by someone that it has a chip that has stored information about every fax that was sent or received; she wants to be sure that it is destroyed before the fax is recycled. First, is this possible? Second, if not, can you provide a reliable source(s) that I can refer to try to alleviate her concern? Third, if it is possible, how do I ensure the chip/drive is removed and destroyed?

Faxing Without a Land Line

We are not able to get a landline this year, but we do have cell phones and high-speed Internet. Is it possible to get a fax line through these? We need a fax, as we are starting a business. We’re just not sure if it’s possible without a landline.
